Pictures on Walls (POW)
-
The POW press and gallery space was established in East London in 2001 by disafected artists as a means of producing affordable art and sidestepping the traditional gallery by selling it direct to the public over the internet. It has since produced a huge range of iconic images, held giant street painting parties (The Cans festival), mounted a guerrilla shopping experience (Santa’s Ghetto) and taken more than twenty artists to paint the separation wall in Palestine. POW is widely credited as one of the driving forces behind the movement known as ‘Street Art’.
