Sweet Heart Now Grown So Cold is an exhibition of major works by Laura Pawela, the Warsaw-based multidisciplinary artist. Specially selected to highlight themes of metamorphosis, this collection spans video, sculpture, photography and drawing and includes a new site-specific installation. The works are connected by motifs that have appeared over the course of her significant contribution to contemporary art. Shifts in materials present a view of Pawela’s practice as an elemental collage of states in continuous transformation.

Miranda Pennell’s Why Colonel Bunny was Killed is the first of a new series of Filmarmalade screenings of artist’s films at IMT Gallery. Why Colonel Bunny was Killed, narrates Among the Wild Tribes of the Afghan Frontier, the 1908 memoirs of Theodore Leighton Pennell. The film is constructed from period still photographs to reveal the beauty and charm of army life on the North West frontier of British India, whilst the Afghans observe yet another colonial misadventure.

IMT is a contemporary art gallery that works with artists to present exhibitions developed specifically for the gallery. The programme has a heavy emphasis towards installation, and annual exhibitions of sound art. IMT also hosts film screenings in association with Filmarmalade.
