Et Cetera explores the notion that meaning and significance can be found in that which is commonly deemed uninteresting or unworthy. The exhibition focuses on various overlooked elements in the increasingly competitive urban environment: both human detritus and the less glamorous areas of nature – the grey-green moss that lurks between the cracks in the cobbles. In addition, the show acknowledges that through repetition in different contexts (particularly repetition in the form of painstakingly produced objects and artefacts) something new and thought provoking may emerge.

The Pleasure Principle investigates the modus of 21st century living and contemporary consumerist culture through the work of four talented contemporaries: Steven Dickie, Rebecca Griffiths, Tom Gallant and Ha Young Kim. Each artist questions our dependence on modern technologies or the perverse and often self-destructive culture of consuming. Will society’s current religion of shiny products, quick hits and internet zones continue to alienate us from ourselves or can there be redemption?

Les Trois Garcons
Les Trois Garcons is situated in a converted Victorian pub from 1880 in Shoreditch. Hassan, Michel and Stefan acquired the building in 1996 as their home, coming from Malaysia, France and Sweden they find living in a Victorian pub the epitome of Englishness. In 2000 the garcons decided to open the ground floor as a restaurant with the kitchen, chef’s table (a room for up to 10 persons with a one way window overlooking the kitchen) and the wine cellar in the basement. They continue to live on the other 2 floors above. Plans are underway to convert the first floor living room into a bar and reception area for the diners of Les Trois Garcons
