Hackney Picturehouse

03 May - 23 May
The GalleryHackPH presents an exhibition of recent works by British artist Mark Melvin.
INTERVAL features a range of video and light works in which Melvin examines the human condition through the lens of popular culture. The works have been carefully selected from Melvin's recent solo exhibition, SUNDAY, at Camden's Cob Gallery and curated to function within the context of Hackney Picture House.
Using wit and wordplay, Melvin re-appropriates familiar songs and idioms to explore time, repetition, and the cyclical nature of cultural stimulation and communication.
As always, to coincide with our private view, we are holding an audio-visual event upstairs at the Hackney Picturehouse.
